I’m a rolling stone.
For the last eight weeks, I’ve been to 5 countries, taken 11 flights and one motorcycle trip.
Now I’m back home.
But I still have stories to tell from my travels…
A SMALL WORLD
Yesterday, I told you how I found the secret breakfast restaurant in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Today, I want to tell you what happened inside.
First, it was crowded… packed… full of people.
How they all found the hidden entrance was a mystery to me.
But just as I walked in, the best table became available.
It had a comfy couch and it was away from the other tables, just like I like it.
I jumped on it.
But it was too good to be true.
Just as I was getting comfortable with my coffee and my book, the waitress asked me for a favor: a group of four girls had just arrived. Could I move to a smaller table so they could sit on my comfy couch?
Ok, I said.
This time, I was sitting on a hard bench right next to another guy.
No personal space at all!
Then I noticed he also had a book – a real book with pages and ink: “Democracy in America” by Alexis de Tocqueville.
It’s a book that’s been on my reading list for a while.
So I did something I usually don’t do, I started a conversation.
And I’m glad I did.
Because we soon found out we had a lot in common.
We were both English teachers.
And we both started in Prague in 2004.
In fact, we knew a lot of the same people!
It’s a small world.

Hi Ryan. You really are a rolling stone. That`s very good. As the proverb says, no moss doesn´t grow on a rolling stone.
Thank you very much, Mr.Vig, for the unique story-lesson with valuable English vocabulary and metaphors! It is an ultimately intellectual experience.
Bolded words !
It’s very good idea!!!
