Have you ever noticed this?
Switzerland has a lot of Swiss things.
There’s Swiss cheese… Swiss chocolate… Swiss bank accounts… Swiss roll… in the U.S. we have Swiss Miss…
And, of course, the Swiss Army Knife.
Two readers have told me that they’re fans of the bottle opener.
One reader warned not to go to London museums with your knife.
And yet another says it’s not good for throwing.
But what a metaphor!
I’m calling a word with several meanings a Swiss Army Knife word.
How To Learn Swiss Army Knife Words: Tip 2
Here’s a crazy idea:
You want to remember a word?
Write it down!
That’s what you do before you go shopping, right?
And which is more important: onions or English?
Onions can wait!😊
Mio piacere
Hi! Good Idea to take a shopping list, f.e. onion, brad etc. in English. But more better and effective to write + to see + read + to hear + to say, all together at the same time, in English.
Probably as I am kinesthetic, I prefer to write down a lot of things ..in learing foreign languages
Swiss Army Knife – great message. It enables a series of tasks thet we naturally need to know and master. I learn English by mastering such language tasks as practical skills that can be done with a Swiss army knife. And much more …
In my opinion, writing down a tough word could be very helpful when someone is studying a foreign language, as well as trying to construct some sentences with this word and put it in speaking.
Tip 1 is use the tool and learn the word, tip 2 is write the word, tip 3, I guess, will be hearing the word and tip 4….? something with our imagination perhaps…
Now, I think I’m going to drink a Miss Swiss hot milk chocolate..
Hi!
Tip 2- very useful. I´ve gotten into this habit and do it often. It helps a lot.
Thanks, that is a good advice on how tu learn new words.
Multi-knife … means Swiss knife
It depends what the situation: if you’re a cook in restaurant then onions are more important but if you’re waiter then English 😊
My creative projects with the onions are always accompanied by tears. But English language gives me the healthiest food – good and interesting conversations with good and interesting people from all over the world!
Thanks for remaining me!
So, the first – English!
Good and useful tips. Thx.
You’re welcome!
Great idea about shopping)) It make me smile. Really love it
