I don’t have an office.
But I do like to work in cafes.
Here’s where I was this morning.
Nice view, right?
And I was lucky because I was the only one there.
But all good things must end.
And eventually a young Asian woman walked in.
“Sawadeekah” she said in Thai.
The barrrista answered “Sawadeekraap.”
Then they started talking in English.
Huh. I thought they were both Thai.
“Where are they from?” I wondered.
Taiwan and Japan?
Japan and Thailand?
Thailand and Vietnam?
Loas? Cambodia? China? Indonesia?
All I know is they were not English, Australian or American.
But they were speaking English.
What a useful language!
Wherever you’re from, wherever you are, like an adapter for your phone, you can take English anywhere and plug it in.
🙂
nice metaphor

It’s the Thai currency / money.

hmm…but sometimes very good adapter is needed .. good English… but in own native language sometimes is difficult to say smth too, to name smth, language and speaking are simple and parallelly very difficult sometimes to to express own thoughts, feelings, etc…
Good English is freedoom.
