Keystone.
That’s the word we’re going to talk about alllll week.
Because it’s big… enormous…huuuuuge for your sucess with English.
That’s in a moment.
But first…
Winter Is Back In Bansko
It snowed yesterday.
But today it was too windy and cold to ski.
Which is a pity, because in just a few weeks the season will be over.
Oh, well.
So instead, I went to 7 Pools spa and hotel to swim and write.
Not a bad backup option.
The Keystone
This summer I spent a month in Greece.
While visiting Hadrian’s Library in Athens, I snapped this photo of a keystone.
Can you guess which one it is?
Here’s a hint: It’s the most important stone in the arch.
If you remove the keystone, the entire arch collapses.
And it’s also a handy metaphor.
Did you know your English has a keystone?
Well, it does.
Let’s talk about that.
Tomorrow!
Cheers,
Mr. Vig
P.S.

Confidence is keystone
My keystone for my succes with English is the interest to talk better in this language
Hi,
In arch, a keystone is essential to the structure if we remove it its entire structure will collapse.
In English, I guess a keystone would have been the word ” learn” if we remove this word from our habits we don’t progress and a day without a little progress is a lost day.
Hello! I think the keystone is the word hard work.
I wish that my keystone for my easy going to speek English will standing like that in Grece and I will make it stronger and stronger by my confidence 🙂
Keystone of everything … Passion I suppose❤️
Yeah, do it, do it every day, do it in the deathtime, doing baby steps
Watching and listening to a few other online English teachers’ presentations about improving conversational skills I picked up a useful expression, “When it comes to sg then …”. And now using this phrase I should say, that when it comes to improving our foreign language speaking skills, the learner’s keystone can not be other than a purposeful and strictly kept daily routine dealing with the given language with the means of the modern methods and of course the use of these skills, whenever it is possible.
