This week we’re talking about bad words.
Dirty words.
Words that hurt my ears.
And words that will definitely hurt your English.
Yesterday’s bad word was “should.”
Today’s bad word is…
Study!
Studying is passive.
Studying is what children do in school.
But you’re an adult.
So put down your milk.
Put down your grammar book.
Pick up a beer (or other adult beverage).
And get busy Doing English!
This means:
Reading.
Listenting.
Watching.
And of course — talking with and meeting other adults.
TOMORROW: Dirty Word #3
Plus, there’s a ton of research that proves studying is a waste of your precious time.
Every day learn more more. It is everytime situation. Training and challenger himself every day..
Convinced, I quit studying at once.
Hi, Mr Vig! I think, Studying is theoretical doing: in the study you get a lot of information, databases. Than you must it in practice try, train, so have you active competence to doo.
I know a place where instead of commonly studying English, there is a lot of enjoyment of reading, listening, watching, and chatroom conversations in English. Guess where is it?
Of course, the unique Vig Village.
Sounds like a lovely place!
Study is a provocative word and associated with modern civilization. A person is more important if he has studied a lot. Of course, according to the models of modern schooling. Mr. Vig explains to us throughout what the path to true knowledge is. I see studying as plastic in a sea of human abilities.
I am wondering what is the difference between studying and doing English… I think that I may watch tv, read in passive way too.., Probably my/our involvement is important, we are involved or not…emotionally, intelectually..others
The experience, study Is an experience, Is entearing a process, a that Is very importante and the first step Then WE can feel Remember that WE watched, the study’s objet WE do a Make whith Our heart and brain a immagine a picture an then write Our thought around that , this Is what study.
Daily I follow your directions and I understand small small changes to my speaking level.
I like that. I’m not studying, but I’m busy doing English!
Mr. Vig! Thank You so much! That letters is excellent! That is it’s like a breath of fresh air (all Yours video too)!
I liked the potential of the “second dirty word”😊…in that conotation I tottaly agree that the proactive on line learning is better/more effective then conventional class-room-course program.
I belive that study is an powerfull and very important instrument for learning English so easy but i have not enough time unfortuently 🤔
I thought I could only spare an hour a day. However, this is so interesting that I study English 3 hours a day. I somehow managed to “repack” the rest of my obligations and get everything done. It is a great joy to do English in this way. Thank you Mr. Vig!
Studying is good but practising is better.
How unexpeckted and how great a way to learn.
HI Ryan ! .Vig Village is the place where only English is spoken, and you can improve knowledge of this language.
