Take a free walking tour.
I always do this on my first or second day in a new city.
Just Google the name of the city and “free walking tour.”
Of course, you should tip.
But the English is 100% free.
And maybe you’ll make an English-speaking friend.
This morning, I took a tour of Bucharest.
I learned about the legends, the history, the culture and the cuisine of the city, all in two and a half hours and from a local.
What do I remember?
Well, did you know, when Michael Jackson visited Bucharest in 1990-something, his first words to his fans were, “Hello, Budapest!”
Ha!
Yes, but this year, GunsN Roses and Depeche Mode said ”Hello, Bucharest”. :))
And were they playing in Bucharest or Budapest? 🙂
Sounds like a joke. 😊 Thanks for your sharing!
Welcome Mr Vig in Bucharest!I hope You will be here happy to meet a lot of people who knows English
Celebrities (and other tourists) often mixing Budapest and Bucarest. I can understand them. Both cities are in Central Europe, near one to other and there are only two little charachters different between them.
Have a nice time in BuCaRest!
It’s good , that we have learned geography at school. So I know the names of the capitals of different countries and try not to confuse them. Russia.
Thanks, mr. Vig! It’s very interesting!
Ha-ha, that is really funny! 😀
Hello!
I was there when Michal Jackson said ”Hello Budapest” and I thing that he was the first, but after him there are a lot of artists, singers with the some salut.
Budapest is in Hungary. He should have known that. I consider it essential that we know the name of the city we are going to and that we also honor its inhabitants, especially if someone is a famous personality.
“Free walking tour” – it’s a great idea! I did not know about such an opportunity. Thank you! I just checked it, it works in Riga too! There are even several itineraries!
Haha! Makes my day! 😉
Welcome to Romania. Yes, I remember Michael Jackson and his blunder.
Hello professor! Welcome in Romania!Enjoy your stay in our capital country !
Hi Mr. Vig!
If anyone was in Budapest they will can never mix these capitols. In Bucharest was a big eartquake (I think it was in 1978) and lot of buildings crashed.
In Budapest includings lot of historycal building. Only names of capitols are similar.
I hope you said a joke…
“Free walking tour” that is really a good idea. I will go in September to Edinburgh and there are free walking tours, I googled.
orBudapest?
A,ok
Thanks for good advice, I try it
Welcome, Mr. Vig! To get informations about the place you are going to visit is a sign of selfcare and self respect and, at the same time, a sign of respect for the locals. I appreciate you for this. Have a nice stay in Romania!
