Readers wrote: Italian, Indian, British, French, Asian and American.
Mine is Dutch.
Except when they make that sound like they’re about to spit.
I don’t like that part.
But everything else sounds nice.
Your Accent
Now, let’s talk about YOUR accent.
A lot of students tell me they don’t like their accent.
They want to change it.
I’ve got some ideas about that.
But first, do you like your accent?

I don’t like my accent because I am too much occupied to find my words… I amnot able to “work my accent in the same time ! too much for my brain……

I don’t like my accent very well, but I accept it :). Because if you start to learn a new language in higher age, you won’t be able to speak completely without an accent. And as long as other people like your accent …. It is ok 😁
They don’t have to like my accent, it’s enough if they don’t mind it.
I didn’t like my accent . One time I was with my niece ( 16 ages) who was born in USA -English is her native language- I told her I was very shy because of my accent . She told me “ No , Aunt , your french accent is pretty- I love hearing your accent ( It means my children , me … ) . So after that , I feel more comfortable 😀
I like my accent, but I need to talk with professional people.
I don’t care about my accent. Believe that others understand me. Accent Is unique and can disclose our origine. Don’t change your accent please, it’s unique as you Are. Have a nice evening..
Naturally, I don’t like my accent. I speak vary slowly; each sound is separate from another one. it sounds awful.

I watched podcasts and videos with American and British accent that I copied, but I’m so curious how it can do it; I supose one technique is shadowing…
If, English isn’t your native language … sure it will be very difficult to change your accent
in many situations, accent tell where are you from.
I don’t like my accent, it means that I speak like a robot, because I have difficult to find the correct words.
Hi, I’m from Finland and I think we have a guite easy accent to follow conversation. I like my accent. It is interesting to hear different accents and chat people with different accents.
I do not care about my accent. Important is when the other part understand you and also you feel confident with speaking. When I will speak (and vocabulary will be) on the same level like native speaker, maybe it will be the time to solve accent. 🙂

I think I’ve always learned an American accent (watched American movies, listened to the news). I think I’ve always tried to imitate him…
I still don’t understand the spoken language, so I can’t speak in English. I just write, therefore you can’t hear its’ awful Hungarian accent. 🤣
I like my accent when I speak english loud just for me at home:D but when I speak with citizen not native speakers I always split down to my czech accent🤷🏻♀️😅
I have always thought that the voice has a color and I think the color of my voice suits me. But of course I hope I could speak so that my speak and words would be understood.
