“You guys.”
Why do native speakers say that….
When they’re not talking to guys?
So annoying!
Just the other day, I was watching a video on YouTube and a man was talking to some women/girls/ ladies/gals/females… definitely NOT guys.
And he said, “Hey, guys.”
And I thought, “What’s up with that?!”
Now here’s were it gets interesting…
Later that evening, I was on a Zoom meeting with some students.
It was a group of three women.
And guess what I said?!
Мне очень нравится ваш юмор и я обязательно буду учить английский язык
Hey Ladies,
Thank you for your story.
Regards,
Marjorie

I’m an old lady!
I speak from Italy.

If you ask so, I think you said “Hey, gays!” 😀
The first time I heard someone call women “guys” I thought it was strange and embarrassing, but now I accept that as slang.
Oh, no! I supouse you didn’t say hi, guys!
Hey guys!!😂😂😂
And the ladies answer: 👀☺️👀☺️👀
Thanks Mr. Vig! Have a nice trip and find beautiful places and interesting and hospitable people!
Regards,
Flora
Hey guys! 🤣
“Hey guys” it’s a way to ask some people to pay attention to something.
Have a good travel!
I guess You said “Hey guys” because you wanted to see what would happen. But knowing that your students are not teenagers… I can´t imagine what happened…
The power of habit…
Hello, guys! It is very good approach for starting conversation.
Thank you for your story. Did you also say ,,HI, guys?”
I think when you say “Hey, guys” you mean “Hey, friends” and it doesn’t matter if they are female or male.
You said: Hi guys! What’s up?
You say-hey, guys!
When ‘you’ means more than one person, native speakers say ‘you guys’. Maybe you said: Hi, guys!
Cheers is much better than “Hi guys!” for these ladies, but nowadays does one know? Ha ha
Have a nice trip!
Hey, guys. I guess, you said
Hi.
You probably said “Hey guys”
Probably “Hey guys” Doesn’t matter. It means, “Get attention my Laydies”.
It is Commonwealth, but Not the best choice
“Hey guys!”
Hey guys 😅😅😅😅
You ladies!
You said ‘hey, guys’ 🙂
When you ask like that, I think you Said “hey guyss”😂🤣
It wouldn’t offend me😉
Hi !
I think you said something that between friends, so you said Hey guys !
Hey, guys!

Hello Mr.VIG. I think you said: Hi ladies! How are you?
I love what you do and what you teach us.
It is very helpful.
Thank you.
Simona
You said the same phrase. They were surprised. Your English language teaching is like a miracle. He is unique.
Hey, guys! I think.
Hi guys
Hi guys!
hey, guys!
I suppose you said ˝Hey Ladies.˝
Language with so many inclusive rules can be “dangerous” Hi, girls. Hi, lasses. Hi, women. Hi, wenches. Hi, damsels. Hi, babes. Hi, young ladies. Hi, chicks. Hi, dollies.
I’m a Spaniard and my English level is intermediate, I guess. I don’t know if any of the expressions above could offend someone’s sensibilities.
Nothing strange. In my country it is usually to address your daughter with “my son”
Hi my students !
Hey gays. I think.
Hey, guys.
I was thinking a bit and I´m changing the comment. You said: dear ladies as a gentleman I want to tell you, sorry for saying “Hey, guys.”
Have a nice trip Mr Vig
Hey girls!
Hi Mr V
I’m learning & enjoying reading your stories.
Thank you so much.
Each time there is something interesting, amazing point is such a fluid way it goes on. Like storytelling for children.
I almost lost my habits of speaking (because I’m living in French speeking country for 3 decades)
These stories support me to update yet somehow.
