Maybe you grew up in a city and never had this problem.
But if you grew up in a suburb, or in the country like me, then you know what it feels like to be a kid trapped at home.
Any time you want to go somewhere – to a friend’s house, to the store, to the playgroun – you have to ask, and sometimes beg, one of your parents to take you.
And if they can’t, or they don’t want to, then you’re trapped.
Trapped at home.
But then, one magical day, that all changes.
And that’s the day you finally get your driving license.
For you, it’s not just another piece of paper in your pocket.
It’s freedom.
So often when people talk about English they say it’s just a language. It’s just words and grammar and sounds.
I disagre.
I also think it’s freedom.
What new freedom will you have after you master English?
