Beautiful buildings.
Old buildings are beautiful.
Modern buildings are boring.
And Europe, compared to the US, has more old buildings.
So here I am.
But…
Would I have liked to have lived before concrete, glass and steel? When all the buildings were old?
Well, there would be three things I would miss the most about these modern times.
Such as…
#2 Medicine
So far, I’ve had good health.
But there were times when I needed painkillers.
Visits to the dentists… a broken leg… the time I had a mole removed from my back…
On those days, I wasn’t missing the so-called good old days.
I was thankful for modern pills and gas and injections
What about you?
What would you miss about modern times?
Comment below.
And we’ll continue this conversation tomorrow.
I will miss the information we get online.
I will miss the canalisation 💩
My freedome, I would miss my freedome. As a woman life is more easier for me nowadays. As a woman I can do my job, work. But in the old days I would just be burnt as a witch😊
I will miss medicine, too, a specially painkiller, when I will have headacke.
“Would I have liked to have lived before…”
Uhh, what a grammar structure 🙂 !!
I also paid attention it seems weird
Don’t think – just repeat.
I would miss the heating, the refrigerator, the clean drinking water, the health care and much more
…and of course, my cuddly bed.
I would miss women rights (for example to succession) but I would prefer that like in old times women could only care about home, children and man – now we have to do also extra work 8 hours or more per day. Not nice.
I would miss about the modern time the opportunity to be in touch with people remotely.
Absolutely the washing machine.
And the dishwasher!
Medicine, of course. And technology and its applications (household appliances, computers, airplanes…)
Life is one way or another. But there comes a moment when we are in fear for this life, and that’s when we cling to medicine – of one kind or another. Could you miss her?
I would miss driving my car to go where and when I want.🙂
In the Old Times I wouldn’t be alive. Medicine and our brain, psyche there are powerful strength,
I read somewhere that today a secretary lives better than a princess in the 19 century. The secretary can take a shower, use an English toilet, she has maybe a car…and so on. I agree!
I think medicine is very good example but I will also miss central heating in my flat and also clean and not contaminated water from our water tap.
Perhaps I would miss radio, television, Internet, social media, movies, food, restaurants….
I would miss everything. The freedom, the style of life, current comfort, everything. It’s nice to see and understand how it previously was, but I would never change current time with the historical one.
Oh yes, the mothern healthcare is crucial. In those good old days even a small enjury could grow up into a big problem. So let us be grateful for bad modern days :-).
Nice day!
I will miss the medicals progress for differents diseases. But i think also that the modern times is completly deshumanised and this is awful……
I would miss the garden around the house.Flowers in the front and tomatoes, salads, parsley in the back. A nice day!
Me too, I wouild miss the same
Welcome to Vilnius! It’s the city where you can see an old and new architecture and a mix of several languages – an archaic Lithuanian, Polish, Russian etc. And the English is more and more common. Dear Mr. Vig, I wish you good time there! Maybe you will meet yours students? I’m one of them and I enjoy it.
I would miss the comfort in the house, modern bathroom, electricity.
o betld and modern, is like to ask me if I want to eat or to drink, both of course, and modern time give us the possibility to move, is more easy and cheap, and know people, places, culture, life. to have more choise is better than less
internet of course, platforms, social, is better
I will miss the automatic washing machine…
HI Ryan !
Old and new buildings describe the spirit of a city. They should be in perfect harmony.
I miss a harmony between the people of the same people and between peoples, only in this way we will be able to evolve further.
Cheers,
Gabriel .
Sorry, I wanted to put +! Big +
I m trying to correct, but it is not possible.
Not problem!
I would miss the dynamism of today, the speed with which everything changes. Our thoughts too, because of the information. For example, while I followed the news in the modern medicine daily, I didn’t realise when I became interested in the most ancient methods of treatment. In the past, we didn’t have much information about them at our latitude.
I would miss all machines that help housework such as a washing machine and a vacuum cleaner, but the most of all, of course, good healthcare with skilled doctors.
I would miss houshold appliances and other tecnical and medical help i cen get nowdays.
Old building are beautiful but new ones can be stunning when we look some long bridges for example. Also, concrete and steel give us more earthquake security. I would always choose a new building for living. Well, I live in earthquake area, that’s the reason
Hi! I would miss the online comunication. Because I am living so far away from my perens .
Hi! I would miss the modern technology phone, PC, Email, FB, Message. My friend, Marta lives in Texas, in 7000 km from Hungary. So we can be in contact: speak and write everyone…
