There are a lot of good teachers in the word.
But if you want to practice conversation, I say, the best choice is a native speaker.
Here’s why…
You’re chatting with your teacher in English.
Everything is going fine.
Then, suddenly, you can’t think of the word you want!
What do you do?
A) Panic
B) Panic then jump out the window
C) Use your native language to ask the teacher for a translation
D) Find another way to say your thought
If the teacher speaks your language, of course, you will switch languages and ask for a translation.
But that’s cheating! You can’t do that in real life.
However, if the teacher doesn’t speak your language, you must find another way to say your thought – just like in real life!
Or just jump out the window.

Hello! I’m here! I try to learn more english due to your lessons! I thank you a lot!
I totaly agree with jours idiea! I’m happy to speak here with native speaker. They all are so amazing and unique!
I am grateful for this opportunity!
Better a few not known words, but only in english!
The four items express so good this type of situation; however, I choose the fourth, “find another way to say your thoughts”. I think you should practice this thing because translating or cheating in this case won’t help you and is better to adapt to the current situation.
I have started to practice this, because there are quite often situations where you have to explain things in other words. Sometimes explaining in a conversation in another way is difficult, especially if you start to get nervous.
Hello Ryan,
Everything you propose is very interesting and innovative. You have elaborated a new
“method” strongly anchored on scientific researches and on the solid experience you have thought about for a long time. It’s really a new way of thinking about learning a language.
So my question is: Are the professors in ” Find a teacher ” applying the same methods as you do? Thanks for your reply and thank you for the strength of your proposals. Sincerely yours.Edith Bourg
Hi, good question. Maybe. Maybe not. I haven’t trained them. So you can ask. And maybe you’ll have to tell them you just want conversation and no textbook lessons.
Hi Ryan,
Thanks to you I panic less.
You are teaching me so many different cool ways to widen my vocabulary that at least, I can find another way to say my thought.
Glad to hear it!
