This is funny.
Here’s Arnold on YouTube talking about his accent when he speaks English.
Arnold says he had “an accent removal coach, who has passed away since then. But, I mean, you know, I should have, otherwise, gotten my money back.”
Ha!
I laughed.
Everyone in the audience laughed.
Arnold has an accent.
An accent almost as strong as his twenty-two inch biceps.
He doesn’t care.
His fans don’t care.
And in fact, the world loves his accent!
It makes him unique.
Can you imagine The Terminator with a proper English accent?
Yet, so many students worry worry worry about their accents.
I say, focus on more important things.
What do you think?
When you’re having a conversation with someone, what’s more important than his or her accent?

HI Ryan !
In my opinion, when you learn a foreign language, it is normal not to have the accent of the natives. But there are cases the profession foreign language teacher eg : English,German,French etc.,they have to learn the foreign language with that accent.
HI Ryan! .When you talk to someone, the most important thing is to understand each other,
not the accent.
Accent can be very sexy 🙂 🙂
is more important the sense of phrase
Hi Mr. Vig,
In a conversation, I think the most important thing is to understand and to be understood !!!
But…I would like to hear and understand a speaker with an accent as close as possible to native English speaker. For my part, let me try to speak with a good (american) English accent, like yours ❤️👍.
I think this is where your talent for speaking foreign languages comes into play, right?
Best regards,
When I have a conversation with someone, the most important for me is to have a good topic, a good mood, and a friendly and joyful atmosphere. I don’t think about the accent at all.
That’s right! The good mood, friendly atmosphere is important in first!
I paid in september to join your group;but i didn’t receive your instruction

Mr. Vig. Is mor important the sens of pfrase. The mor important for me is to have a good topics. Best regards
I think the accent is not so important or less important when you speak to someone; rather you must focus on the ideas and the message communicated and also to speak clearly and understand each other.
I don’t care about my accent 🤣
Hi, I bought English learning materials and have not received them yet. Please explain

If you could learn the pronunciation associated with “the king’s English” (Received Pronunciation or RP in linguistic terminology), it would enhance the negative effect of other errors in usage that you made, e.g. terms of polite address, word choice, register, formality or just the opposite. If you have a special accent (foreign or otherwise), you are way more easily excused by native speakers for the odd mistake in grammar or pragmatics. So yes, absolutely, having an accent can be a huge advantage sometimes.
I would like to speak without accent, but it’s inpossible, I afraid
Communication is the first and most important goal of the language. The accent is present in communities and there are as many accents as there are communities. I live in a 14000 inhabitants village who have their particular accent, very different from the accent of people living in other close villages. But that is not an obstacle to our communication.
My accent is my personality, because I don´t care about it.There are many more important things such as finding courage to speak up…
Maybe when you are perfect with your English you will think about your accent.
But for me it’s more important to find a courage to speak and to enjoy in the conversation. And to understand each others, of course.
Hello, Ryan!
In my opinion the accent isn’t so important at the beginning or intermediate level of studying language. Just one moment – the accent could be your business card, especially when you speak fluently J Of course at the high level of knowing language an accent also improves.
When I have a conversation with other people where are actual such things: an ability to construct the sentences, an ability to ask questions. It means that grammar is important) It is difficult to understand a person when he or she is using idioms not correctly. So I am very glad to have an opportunity to develop my English with you and your team. Thank you very much!
Τo understand each other… 😉
Wer ist verstorben? Der Trainer oder der Akcent? 😂
Hi, for me an accent is not such important as to understanding each other in conversation. I agree the accent makes us unique. Although it can sometimes be funny. 🙂
I like other people’s accent (to an understandable level), but myself I would like to get as close as possible to native speakers.
