This week, we’re talking about scams and scammers.
We’re talking about who you can and can’t trust online.
And we’re talking about what’s fake and what’s real.
Let’s continue…
FAKE ENGLISH VIDEOS
I just watched an ad on YouTube.
It showed a woman giving a speech on a stage in front of an audience.
The woman said she knows why I can’t speak English.
She then said she knows the solution.
The solution is an app.
Maybe the app works, maybe it doesn’t.
But it was all fake.
There was no speech.
There was no audience.
There was no woman.
It was all AI.
This time, I could tell.
But very soon, we won’t be able to tell who, or what, is real.
I’m afraid of AI.
Me and especially my daughter graduated of PC are very, very skeptical with AI…
I’m worried about the possible damages which AI can cause. It’s so easy to let yourself to be fooled by it !
On YT one can see our highest politicians telling nonsense, urging people to get to the bank to get money they’re allegedly giving you for nothing, urging them to join nonexistent groups. They look completely “believable”, except you know it’s not possible. But what if the lies wouldn’t be so obvious ? What if they would prompt people to do criminal things? How can you know what is real and what is not ?
If you believe these constructions, you could get yourself into trouble, loose money, reveal personal informations about yourself. You’ll probably decide to believe nothing, but it’s not a solution. But what is ?
I think so: don’t be naive and use your brain
Thanks Ryan for this topic. None of us can escape it. I wish all of us a critical attitude towards AI and above all trust our own intuition. And if we have been fooled (it still happens…) let´s rather stay positive, laugh at ourselves and be smarter next time. What else can we do?
That will be the very truth!
