A conversation with an English native speaker is a great opportunity to improve your speaking skils.
But you’ve got to do it right!
Yesterday, I said you should listen more than you speak.
Today, I say you should…
TIP #2: Be A Parrot
Did you hear a nice word?
Did you hear an interesting phrase?
A clever way to say an idea?
Parrot it.
Repeat it.
Use it in your next sentence and you will add it to your active vocabulary and start to sound like a native speaker.
By the way, kids do this all the time; and they don’t need my lessons!
Indeed! So that a new sorology was repeated for two days in my classroom.
HI Ryan !
Repetition is the mother of learning !
Cheers
Gabriel
So interesting!
The secret method is to use immediately the clever word or the nice expression in your next conversation; that mean you learn by imitation, like a parrot
Echo efect, reflecting an interesting word , and using imediately after hearing.. a good advice. Thanks!
I’ll follow your secong tip by becoming a perrot and trying to repeat words or expressions I think I hear.
Parrot it!
I like this idea! Thank you, Mr Vig.
