In school, they taught you questions like:
“Where is the bathroom?”
“What time is it?”
And, “How many cats does Mr. Baker have in his luggage?”
But the best question in English is: “What does that mean?”
Conversations With Native Speakers: TIP #4 – Ask Questions
A conversation with a native speaker is a great opportunity to improve your English.
You’re going to hear new words, phrases, and ways of saying ideas.
If you’re shy and don’t ask, “What does that mean?”, your progress will be slow.
But if you’re always asking, “What does that mean?”, you’re learning in every conversation!
By the way, kids do this all the time.
And so do my friends who don’t need my lessons.
Oh, and don’t worry, you won’t annoy the native speaker with your questions; everyone likes to feel smart.
Nice daily tips! Thanks😊
You’re welcome!
Thank you Mr. Vig. These are really ‘nice daily tips’ indeed like Rūta said!
I look forward to these evening readings from you Mr. Vig.
I just can’t go to sleep without reading these. This is one of my evening routines.
Glad to hear that!
Perhaps Mr.Baker will let the cats out of the luggage, would answer a smart kid
So how many cats can you have in your luggage ? I have four of them, is that enough ?
“What does that mean” is an important question, but I think the most important is “Where is the bathroom/ restroom/ lavatory/ toilette/WC? ” It’s wise to learn it in as many languages as possible !
