This week, we’re talking about rules.
No, not boring, confusing grammar rules.
We’re talking about rules that will change your English and change your life.
Here’s #2…
Thou shalt not worry about the Common European Framework for Stuck Students
I’ve got fat friends and fit friends.
My fat friends say things like, “I need to walk more steps today.”
Or, “I need to eat fewer calories.”
Or, “I need to start going to the gym today.”
My fit friends say things like, “Wanna go for a hike this weekend?”
Do you see the difference?
Successful people enjoy the process.
Unsuccessful people focus on the result.
I’ve seen this again and again with English.
The stuck student asks, “Will I get a certificate?” “What’s my level?” “Is there a test?” “How soon until I’m at C1?”
Successful English speakers don’t know or care what level they are at.
They’re too busy enjoying conversation, books, films, TV, etc.
I haven’t noticed that before, but now when I think about it I realize that my attitude to the chatting in English had after a few weeks of attending chat rooms changed. I’ve stopped worrying if I will understand others, if they’ll understand me, if I’ll embarrass myself by my mistakes. I just thought about whoom I ll meet, if Jeanne will be there with her irresistible laughter, if Igor will be back from his trip, and so on. So I almost completely stopped thinking about my English level, just enjoyed communicating with people. That is really big success for me. Thank you.
That is a HUGE success!
Thank you again.
Holy truth.
THOU SHALT NOT STUDY..!.
THOU SHALT NOT WORRY ABOUT…!
It seems they are power words if I ‘m correctly understanding….it’s a ban, a powerful ban!
I’m so curious who used for the first time/ occasion these strange words…? Don’t tell me is GOOD….
On the other hand ,WANNA GO…sounds like an old sweet language, a dialect, perhaps, something that is more closed by people and more likely..
Fascinating, I like so much finding the meaning of the words!
Correctly!
So I am successful student 🧑🎓
Unfortunately people don’t change easily. Most often those who are successful stay that way the rest of their lives. The same goes for unsuccessful people.
