“English grammar for beginners.”
That’s what I searched for on YouTube yesterday.
I don’t recommend it.
Here’s the important information the number one video thinks beginner students need to know:
- “There are two types of nouns: common nouns and proper nouns.”
- “There are three types of pronouns: personal pronouns, possessive pronouns and demonstrative pronouns.”
- “Verbs describe an action such as a physical action or a mental action.”
That was just in the first two minutes.
Now here’s the interesting part…
Several of the comments said something like: “I already speak English, but I never learned this grammar. Thank you.”
None of the comments said, “I didn’t speak English, then I learned this grammar and now I speak English. Thank you.”
Do you know why?
Yes, I think I know the answer..
You only need to use words for to speaki and read you no need to say how they called or how many types they are

Grammar exists whether we like it or not. Some people can learn a language without knowing the rules. They just listen and repeat. That’s great. All children learn like that. I wish I were a kid and could learn three or four languages like that. That would be enough for me.
I like grammar, I like maths and I like rules. I think knowing some grammar rules helps me. But grammar is not the beginning of learning languages, not at all.
I agree that there is logic in grammar that helps me compose my own correct sentences.
Hi,
I think like Biljana that knowing some rules can help.
I’ m glad I learned the rules of grammar and conjugation at school.
Even if it doesn’t help me become fluent, it gave me some useful reflexes and helped me get familiar with the understanding of the language’s structure.
