Yesterday, I gave you a lesson from Konrad Dobosz.
He’s a polyglot who speaks 10 languages.
And Konrad says, the way to learn vocabulary is NOT to learn vocabulary
(translation: don’t memorizing word lists like you did in school)
So how DO you learn new words?
Making Words Sticky
Konrad says to lean words in sentences.
Your memory can remember a new word better when the new word is connected to other words inside a sentence.
His example: You can put one sticky note on your fridge.
But if you really want it to stick, put a bunch of sticky notes on the fist sticky note.
The other words in the sentence, like the other sticky notes, make the new word stick to your memory.
Isn’t that interesting!
Next: Why you can’t remember words when you speak
Nothing is coming in my head
I agree that sticky notes help.I used to repeat learning or reading certain parts when found or heard some new words used in order to memorize it.
As the years go by, it becomes more and more difficult for people to learn, and this does not only apply to words. Short-term memory simply does not work.
Oh yes I go for a bunch of sticky notes on the first sticky note. I love this tip ! I always learn sentences now and it’s more efficient !
Thank you 🙏
