How To Say “Merry Christmas” In English

This is easy.

But even native speakers get it wrong. 

You see, when I was a kid, people just said “Merry Christmas.”  

Now people say “Happy Holidays.” 

Why?

I’m not sure.

I think some people don’t like religion.

I think some people like to control what other people say. 

And I think a lot of people just follow the crowd. 

And that’s a pity. 

The Last Place Where People Say “Merry Christmas”?

Did you know I have another job?

I’m the mayor of a village. 

It’s called Vig Village. 

It’s an online village. 

And inside Vig Village we are from many countries, many cultures, and many religions. 

When it’s Eid al-Adha, we say, Happy Eid Mubarak.

When it’s Chanuka, we say, Happy Chanukah.

And when it’s Christmas, we say, Merry Christmas. 

Simple. 

So this Christmas, let’s keep it simple.

Just say, Merry Christmas.
