A good teacher has two speeds.
Normal.
And “you.”
When I talk to students, they are often amazed.
“I can understand you! Do you normally talk like this?”
The answer is, No.
When I want a student to understand me, I slow down, I cut out remove the phrasal verbs, pronounce every letter (“in-ter-net” not “inner-net”), and pause… a lot.
Your teacher can do the same.
If, you say the magic words…
Slow.
Down.
.
Hi, I prefer short, simple sentences. Long, compoud sentences are problem for me at the moment.
To say our teacher “slow, down” I don’t think will help us, simply because we must become comfortable with normal speed, the way all the people talk. This thing works only at the begining…

Good tip! Slow-down-button. Everyone of us owns and uses this. And it helps when you’re in trouble🙂
Yes, I agree, teachers have to be sure that their students understand them, I have a negative experience in that sense, I spent more than a year in an academy whose teachers spoke only to advanced students.
It’s funny!! Because the most of the time i replace phrasal verbs in my sentence. It’s quit difficult for the moment, but anyway when i don’t understand i have to raise my finger and say “can you repeat more slowly please”. That’s it!!☝️
