Sunday night.
Time to relax with some YouTube.
“That looks interesting,” I thought.
But I couldn’t finish the video.
It was too painful for my ears.
I was listening to the worst English accent in the entire English-speaking world.
The accent was…
KIWI!
Kiwi, of course, is another name for someone from New Zealand.
And when they say the letter “e”, it sounds like a baby chicken is dying inside their nose.
Just terrible.
But guess what?
Some people like…. LOVE the New Zealand accent.
Isn’t that interesting…
I’ve been thinking a lot about accents recently.
So let’s talk about that this week.
And to start, please jump over to the blog and tell me:
What’s your favorite accent?
I’ll tell you mine tomorrow.

The American accent is the simplest. I think North American accent. There are Americans who awfully speak English. Of course, it is not as clear as British. British is more understandable.

I love the accent that italian people have when speaking french or english. It is so cute musical, sunny and smooth.
I don’t have a favorite accent, but I think that accents, although they often hinder communication, enrich the language, make it more colorful and expressive.
British accent is the best, for me

I like Indian accent. I admit it sounds a little funny, but is nice and clear. Anyway I have no problem to understand them.

You never know how is it with a spoken language because, I think, is a so versatile thing, …I don’t prefer an accent or the other, I just listen or speak.
My favorite accent is British.
I like the Indian accent, which is a little bit different according to the places (India is a huge country) but I like it though it has been a little bit difficult for me the 1st time I talked with an Indian guy (a few minutes only, time to get used to it). Maybe it’s because I love India 😉
I would agree with Eglė
I love American English too. Maybe it’s a consequence of American movies, where I mostly listened to American English.
The Italian accent is for my ears, like a tiramisu or a napolitane pizza for my stomach 😅😉
