This is one of the biggest lessons I can teach you.
Are you ready?
If you want to change your behavior, change your identity.
When you want to do something new, sometimes you forget or quit.
But when you become someone new, your actions will always match your identity.
So become a reader.
You’ll read every day.
And your vocabulary and grammar and spelling will improve every day.
(Plus, you’ll be a more interesting person to talk to.)
How To Become A Reader In Three Steps
Go to a bookstore.
Buy a real book.
Read one page: Habits start with small actions.
That’s it.
Enjoy your new identity.
Bonus Tip: Put your book next to your bed. That way, you’ll see it every night and you’ll remember to read one page every night.
What a challenge…!
Do I manage it, to change my identity?
You can built your false self … if you manage with it ..
It’s interesting…!
Or you can to sculpt your present self by everyday’s reading and model it slowly to the better new self.
I believe we can do it. You can do it and I can… everyone can!
Habit becomes routine!
Hi Patricia, can you recommend a book. Which one did you enjoy. Thanks for your advice. Karin
There is a wonderful tv serie with the title “One Day” based on a book with the same title. It is a bestseller and a wonderful story. / Ylva
If I can to give you an advice, take “To kill a mockingbird” by Lee. It’s wonderful.
Good tips. Thanks!
You’re welcome!
Actually I’m reading a book for children at the age of 9-11 years: “To be a cat”, written by Matt Haig. It’s easy to read for me, but inspite of there are a lot of new words or formulations for me. In total the book has about 290 pages. This evening I’ve reached page 42….🐈
I coudn’t go to the bookstore today, so I went to the bookcase. The only book in English was the Bible, so I took it. I read the first chapter.
