What’s a dead horse?
Well, you could go to Google, type in “dead horse” and then click on “image.”
But I don’t recommend it.
Plus, that’s not what I’m talking about.
“Dead horse” is a metaphor for a solution that doesn’t work.
And if you’re trying to ride a dead horse, that means you need a new horse; any other change is just futile… a waste of time… foolish…
So far this week, we’ve discussed:
- Getting a new dead horse
- Beating your dead horse harder
And now…
The Best Way To Ride A Dead Horse?
Study.
Translate.
Test.
Did you know there’s an app for that?
Just download the new Dead Horse app.
Enter your location.
And a dead horse will pick you up and take you anywhere you want to go!
Very.
Slowly.
I like your metaphors, even if they relate to “dead horses”, BUT I tend to ride “alive horses”.
It’s a good metaphore. I figure if I study, translate and exercise every day this dead horse will rise. 😊
Very nice and exactly metaphor for a really course to study english or everythink else. I hope to arrive. Thank you
You are right, but it hurts, terrible hurts…the dead horse!
Have you ever ride a dead horse? No??
Me, neither!!!
I do English every morning, every afternoon and every evening until this dead horse runs.
It’s very strange – I understand everything you say and write. And yet I’m not that good at these bricks. Being “good at these bricks” is, in Polish, a metaphor for being proficient in a certain field.

Dear Mister V îs very sugestiv to ,,Ride a dead horse” and I hope using itI will improve my English but other people who didnot the expression maybe they look at me strange! Liliana

Thanks for these helpful tips! 🙂
Thank for tip…
Super, understandable, followable expalnation. Tahnks!!!
Hungarian isn’t any feminine and masculine pronouns just singular and plural pronounses.
On the other hand our language differentiates peson and object both in singular and plural.
Oh, what a pity! It’s beyond annoying! Did you succesfully recover you FB account?
I understand study but I do not understand translate and test.
I don’t want to ride a dead horse. I do every day Anki’s, power lessons, read a book, hear some podcasts.
