Just like every gym is full in January…
Every September, language schools fill their seats.
English teachers fill their schedules.
And search results for “learn English online” and “English app” spike.
Then, just like the gym empties out before the summer…
The schools and teachers are soon wondering, “What happened to all the students?”
GOALS VS. HABITS
A powerful lesson I learned from the book Atomic Habits is “Don’t make goals!”
Because goals are temporary.
Instead, you should create habits.
Because habits last a long, long time.
But going to classes or taking lessons can not be a habit.
If a behavior is going to become a habit, it must be:
- daily
- easy
- enjoyable
This is the idea behind the atomic metaphor.
A habit is small.
But because you do it every day, all year, it is powerful.
Learn one word a day?
Atomic!
Sign up for classes at the British Council, get bored and quit?
A waste of time and money.
Cheers,
Mr. Vig
P.S.
What are you doing Saturday morning?
I’m teaching a free class for Vitamin V readers.
You’ll learn the small, yet powerful, habit I teach my paying students.
More information coming soon…
Hello Mr. Vig
I did’nt know, the lessons will continue forever
I just want to say now – after this month I don’t wish to continue to get these Vitamins.
Love Anneli
