I’m back in Prague.
I spent the last three weeks in the US visiting friends and family.
Now I’m back.
And everything is fresh and new again.
Is this the best part of traveling – returning home?
FIRST CLASS KIDS
On Sunday, as I boarded my flight, I walked through business class.
And I saw something odd.
A kid!
He was maybe ten years old.
He looked tiny sitting in the huge business-class seat.
“Why does a kid need to fly business class?” I thought.
And then I saw another kid. And another. And another.
I lost count.
Teenagers, babies, toddlers.
They weren’t related.
They weren’t in a group.
They were just there with their parents.
The word for this is “spoiled.”
Kids who have everything given to them and don’t have to work for it are spoiled.
And if they’re really spoiled, like flying in business class, we say, “they’re spoiled rotten.”
TOMORROW: What it was like flying to Texas in the 1970s. And where my kids will sit in the plane.
I think the reason why you say “get on a plane” and “get in a car”, is that you can walk on an airplane, but you cannot walk in a car. Likewise, you can get on a bus..
Am I right?
Makes sense to me!
Yes, I agree with youThere’s a word like an spoiled rotten apple will do spoioil rotten all the fruit in the pile. Some nowadays children have all they want without a min8mum effort and what about using AI ? BIG problem!
“Have you ever flown with British Airways?” No, I haven’t. I mostly use the services of Scandinavian and Air Baltic companies, because the distances I have covered so far are up to a maximum of 4 hours in the sky. When boarding these planes, you have to go through the business class area, which is not much different from the economy class seats. Of course, they are wider, but nothing supernatural. Therefore, during the flight, business and economy class are separated only by small curtains. “They” probably drink champagne there for double or triple the money paid, but I don’t envy them either. The sky and the plane are the same for both of these groups.
About “spoiled children”. If parents choose to fly business class, where else should they put their children?
The only thing – yes, about that “life lesson”. After a while, it may happen that the parents’ economic situation has changed, the children may ask the question: “why are we so poor now that we have to fly in economy class?”. Children who are used to receiving “the best” may be confused. Well, but it will be time for their “life lesson”
Hi,
Is there a connection between a spoiled rotten child and business class on a plane?
I don’t think so.
According to me, only the behaviour ( shouting loudly, talking loudly, crying without being able to stop, kicking the seat in front, … ) let us know if a kid is spoiled rotten or not.
If the parents can afford a business class for themselves, why shouldn’t they let their children travel with them in business class ? Business class is more comfortable for everyone, including children.
The problem is the education and the values the children received, regardless of whether the parents are flying in business class or economy.
The problem is how the parents teach their children how to behave when other people are around ? Can you do whatever you feel like, can you do whatever you want ?
That’s why politeness and the rules of good manners were created.
I’ve seen spoiled rotten chidren in business class and economy as well.
Anyway, I would say ” kids these days” and add “parents these days” 😉
A very good lesson of education – everywhen have to be a motivation
