Last week I was in London.
While I was there, I sent back all the strange, new words I found.
I hope you learned something.
Now a reader wants to know what I learned.
Ok!
Here we go…
First Lesson Learned In London
Before you leave your Bolt/Uber/taxi, make sure you see your phone in your hand.
Here’s what happened:
I got out of my Bolt.
I felt a lump in my pocket.
I thought, “I’ve got my phone.”
Wrong.
The lump was my writing notebook.
Quickly, I turned around to retrieve my phone…
But the driver was already gone…
TOMORROW: Lesson #2 from London
I would like to learn American English with you, Mr Vig! But I can‘t, because I don‘t have the money yet!
Hi Mr. Vig!
Please tell me what contains the course price. I’m completely confused because I see everything is for money (Vitamin V, teacher). I would like to have clear rules.
Oww ! That was not the greatest start in London, I’m sorry ! I would have been devastated, would it have been me… Hope someone returned your phone to the taxi-center ad it has found its way to you. If not, hopefully you’ve been able to recover important informations. And last (but not least -of course! ) the following experiences in London overshadowed your sad start there and you will carry good memories of your staying there. Better lack for the next time !
… better luck…sorry
Londres, with many time to stay there, all senses 🙄and never you must go to run, pfffffff…it’s terrible, slowly better. The Ghias there…repfffff…
What’s Ghias, can you explain please?
And what happened to the phone? Did you find it? Or did you have to buy a new one?
Twà new words from London : retriever and lump.
Many thanks.
…lump, chunk, hunk…
When we speak about learning something ,besides English, of corse, I think it is a good sense advise do not dump your trash on all-over around for respecting and protecting the environment. Like I said once ,I think these very colourful expressions are used to pay more attention on the thing they express.Sorry for your phone!
I would to talk a little more about the leatest Bridge Audioe article: ” The camera that will record your body from inside”.
Hi Ryan,
we all learned from your visit to London. I learned a new expression and several other new words. Dump, lump, tuxedo, retrieve, no fly tipping and I quess there was something else…I´m sorry for your bad luck with the phone, but this painful lesson says clearly to keep an eye on your things. We have been taught this since childhood, but it´s still happens…That´s life!
Hi Ryan !
1.Did you leave your phone in the taxi ?
2.Did you talk to the people from the company?
3..Did you solve something?
Cheers,
Gabriel
Good advice! To remember!
Thanks and I’m waiting for the next!
It’s mistake! the question is for Mr. Vig, not to Christl Riva. I’m sorry
